Dear _____,

My dear colleague (friend, etc.) Christine is launching her book Tight Hip, Twisted Core - The Key to Unresolved Pain and has invented the Hip Hook, the world’s first tool to target the iliacus muscle. This muscle can impact the body not only at the hip, but it changes the alignment of everything from head to toe. (share personal story as applicable)

Her work is completely innovative.  There is nothing else out there like this. I thought you might be interested in connecting with her.  I’ve cc: her on this email.

Maybe you want to (fill in the blank of how you think they may want to be involved, i.e. “host her on your podcast” or “sell her products at your gym”)? Here’s an endorsement from a hip expert in the field:

“In her new book Tight Hip Twisted Core, Christine uses compelling storytelling and her deep experience in physical therapy to shed light on the meaning of a “tight hip.” She addresses an important and often dreaded twosome, what I often call the “snarky psoas and irritated iliacus.

As a veteran PT who specializes in hip and pelvic pain and safety for the hip in yoga, I am delighted to see Tight Hip, Twisted Core published. This much needed book can help you begin to understand some of the major players that affect hip health, and give you an understanding of what helps versus what harms the hip. Tight Hip, Twisted Core is an accessible, easy to understand text that can benefit anyone who has had hip pain or anyone whose hip is the cause of pain in other places.”

Biography

After working as a Physical Therapist for decades, a pattern started to emerge. Tightness in the iliacus caused by too much sitting, overuse in athletics, or being too flexible was causing problems all over the body. I talk all about this in my bestselling book, Tight Hip, Twisted Core - The Key to Unresolved Pain.

After mastering how to release the iliacus with my own hands for my clients, I went on a mission to develop a self-release tool so people everywhere could empower themselves and get rid of pain on their own.

I tested dozens of existing tools but none of them could provide the right amount of pressure to the right spot. Over the last few years, I have painstakingly tested many variations and have finally perfected the Hip Hook. It is the only tool that perfectly targets the iliacus muscle and releases tension the way only a professionally trained PT can.

Q & A

A few commonly asked questions
Why is the iliacus important enough to write a whole book about it?
The iliacus is part of the hip flexor but is overshadowed by the psoas, and thus it doesn't get treated or addresses. This is detrimental to the function of the body because it's tightness has a huge impact on how the hip and the rest of the body works and can be a primary contributor to pain in many areas. It's overlooked, and needs to be seen in its staring role.
How does the iliacus get so tight?
Iliacus tightness unknowingly exists in most of us based on the lifestyle we live. Sitting too much overworks and shortens the iliacus. Many athletic activities such as running, cycling and weight lifting puts repetitive stress on it. Flexibility based activities such as yoga and dance create an unstable hip and leave the iliacus to tighten up to hold it all together.
How will this information help others?
First the iliacus must become a household name. This book will bring the iliacus out of the closet and teach us how to make our iliacus happy and keep it happy through offering the what, why, and how that each human deserves to understand. The conversational style of the book and approachable illustrations makes it easy for anyone to master their iliacus.
How is this one muscle responsible for pain all over?
The iliacus attaches to the inside surface of the pelvic bone and very close to the front of the hip joint. When it holds tension, it pulls on the pelvis and changes the way the hip fits into the socket, causing the leg to rotate in and twist all the way down to the toes, stressing all the joints in between. The pull on the pelvis similarly strains the lower back and twists the spine, changing the shoulder alignment and neck posture up on top. Without an aligned and relaxed core, the rest of the body is strained.
